Claro helps individuals get clarity on their insurance coverage through a free call with a licensed advisor. Doing that well means asking for some personal details up front. This page explains, in plain language, what we ask for, why we ask for it, and the choices you have around it.

What information reaches us

Most of what we know about you, you tell us directly through our coverage calculator, our lead forms, or a WhatsApp/phone conversation with an advisor. That typically covers your name, phone number, email, city, age, approximate income, and details of any insurance or investments you already hold.

Separately, standard analytics tools running on the site (Google Analytics and similar) pick up technical signals in the background browser type, device, rough location, and which pages you spend time on. This happens automatically for every visitor and isn't tied to your name unless you've also filled a form.

Why we ask for it

Practically, your details get used for a short list of things:

  • Matching you with an advisor and scheduling your free call
  • Running the numbers behind your coverage gap
  • Following up over WhatsApp, phone, or email about your specific enquiry
  • Occasionally, letting you know about something relevant you'd already asked about
  • Meeting record-keeping obligations required under insurance regulations

We don't sell contact lists, and we don't use your data for anything outside this list.

How long we hold on to it

We keep enquiry and client data for as long as it's useful to you or required of us typically for the duration of any policy you take through us, plus whatever period insurance regulation requires afterward. Background analytics data has a much shorter shelf life and is generally aggregated or discarded within a few months.

Keeping it secure

We restrict access to client data to the advisors and systems that actually need it, and rely on reputable, secured infrastructure to store it. That said, no system connected to the internet is completely immune to risk, and we can't promise perfect security any more than any other company can. If we ever discover a breach that affects you, we'll tell you directly and promptly.

Cookies, and other websites you might visit through us

The site uses cookies mainly to understand traffic patterns and remember basic preferences. Blocking them in your browser won't break the core site, though a few conveniences may stop working.

Where we link out for example, to an insurer's website for policy documents we have no control over how that site handles your data once you're there. It's worth a quick check of their own privacy policy before sharing anything further.

When we might share your information

Outside of the advisor and insurer directly helping you, we only share data when:

  • A law, regulator, or court requires it
  • It's needed to investigate fraud, abuse, or a genuine security concern
  • Someone's safety could be at risk and sharing information helps address that

Anything you or we explicitly mark as confidential stays that way, and isn't passed on without your consent unless one of the situations above applies.

What you can ask us to do with your data

At any point, you're entitled to:

  • Ask what data we hold about you
  • Get something corrected if it's wrong or outdated
  • Ask us to delete it, within the limits of what regulation requires us to retain
  • Push back on a specific use of your data you're not comfortable with
  • Get a copy of your data to take elsewhere

Just message us on WhatsApp or email and we'll action it directly no forms, no runaround.

If you're under 18

Our advisory services are built for adults making their own financial decisions, so we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If a parent or guardian believes we've ended up with a minor's details, let us know and we'll remove it.

If this policy changes

We'll update the date at the top of this page whenever this policy changes materially. We don't send a separate notice for every edit, so it's worth a glance back here every so often if you want to stay current.
